I've seen an 1896 rail in Lodi, WI, but this one takes the cake! Great find...

Hey, that was rolled at Joliet Steel. That mill no longer exists, and now all that's left are the remains of ancient blast furnace. It even features a walking trail around the archaeological remains of the site.
