Thanks for sharing this - one of my favorite paint schemes of all time.

The paint scheme is a classic. BNSF would have been well served to retain this one rather than the "halloween" scheme now used. Thanks for sharing.

Most likely, the was a nameless Seattle-Portland train that NP operated between those cities in the pre-Amtrak years as part of a "pool" service with Great Northern and Union Pacific. Each railroad operated one round trip between these cities, giving travelers a choice of three departure times throughout the day.

Really nice photo. I gave this one a vote for People's Choice. You may have been 17 in 1964, but you were already shooting photo's like a pro.

Definitely a "pro" shot. I wasn't aware that any other road but Pennsy used lift rings on the noses of their units. Love the bus. Thanks...Bob EMDjunkie@netzero.net

Great, great shot! Like a lot photos taken from years past, many things have changed. The track this trains sits on is now the outside track from the station. Every inch of space behind the train to and including the "Albers" building in the backgound is now condos and apartments. Thank you for the great contributions Mr. Jacksich.

Great shot! This is also my favorite color scheme.

That tower with speakers stood for another 40+ years until it was brought down by a Talgo train that split the left switch, causing the set to go down Track 2 AND track 3, bringing down the tower, breaking off the lighted yellow "close clearance" signs, and damaging the canopy. Thank you for sharing what it was like 40 years before this became my stomping grounds. Great paint scheme on the NP...
