This is a superb opportunistic shot from the Trans Siberian - very well captured and a fascinating image

I have only recently seen this picture, but realise that I can offer details about this locomotive. The book "Allied Military Locomotives of the Second World War", published in 1995 by Tourret Publishing has full details, from which I quote the following from my copy. Built by Alco in 1944, EA2001-EA2200 were also known as USA/TC4500-USA/TC4699. Their works numbers are 71670-71869, so EA 2057 is Alco 71726. The design dates from 1915; 875 of the type were built for Russia pre-WW2. The wartime ones were shipped from Portland, Oregon to Vladivostyok in Russian ships, because Russia was not then at war with Japan. 2107 were built in 1944-1947, of which 47 did not leave the USA. There is much more detail in the book. If anyone is particularly interested, then please contact me via Railpictures.
