Yeah, the twelve degree curvature through the canyon combined with the long passenger cars gives it just the right appearence. I have a friend who is modelling this stretch of track in HO scale.

Yep, they sure looked good. I can't believe they went and repainted them in that fugly red/cream/black scheme. I hear they're being returned to the green n' gold again if they haven't already. What makes this shot memorable to me is that I wasn't even expecting this train to show up. I remember how surprised I was when I saw it coming around the far corner!
