Great shot! Having viewed many of Drew's photos on this website, I've found some fine examples of railroad photography in the West. Having worked for the S.P. Police from August of 1965 to March of 1993, many of Drew's S.P. shots taken during this time period bring back old memories - from the SDP-45s (I saw them at the old 16th Street Station in Oakland) to the F units on "The Hill" (I used to ride as a spotter in F7 and other loco cabs from Fresno to Roseville protecting the Starpacer tri-level auto trains which were paced on the highway by a PO unit used to apprehend train rockers) to the KM diesel hydaulics I saw in Stockton yard (my late uncle, Vernon Hedding, of the S.P. Purchasing Dept. of what was then 65 Market Street, had a hand in purchasing the KMs). I think Drew Jacksich (the King of SP Photographers) and Ray Lewis (the Ansel Adams of Donner Pass) should get together and publish their fine western railroad photos in a book. They could probably get John Signor to help out. Gentlemen, keep up the excellent work! Charlie O. District Attorney's Criminal Investigator / Collector of RR books and photos

Excellent composition, Drew. Most would say it looks like it could've been 1954 but the colors and sharpness make it look like it was just taken.

I wish they will get #46 restored to operational again soon in the future! Great doubleheader shot!
