I'm unsure of the paint composites that SP used on many of their locomotives but whatever it is it seems to have an effect on the adherance capabilities of many of the UP heralds that have been applied. For some reason the decals just don't seem to hold up very well. It is nice to see the SP paint scheme still running the rails. These locos are another reminder of another era that's passing us by.

I think the "adherance" problem, is more likey induced by crews not happy with their current owner. I was talking with a UP, (former CNW) engineer, while he was removing the UP patch from his AC44 with his pocket knife. These railroads had a lot of proud employees.
