Back in 2001, I had the opportunity to go on the old Navy Shipyard Charleston, and I saw an old locomotive similar to this one that was attached to some old flat cars and a couple of box cars. Since the Navy pulled out of that shipyard in 1995, I wonder if that locomotive would even run today? Looks like the USAF takes better care of their equipment! ALthough I wonder what the USAF needs trains for at an F-16 base? Very nice pic!!

They were abd still are used to bring on tank cars of jet fuel for the base. Its cheaper and easier that dozens of truckloads of fuel.
