This is a Colorado and Southern 2-8-0. All of the CB&Q 2-8-0s were retired relatively early (mid 1930's). I also suspect that the photo was taken at Rice Yard in Denver. I have seen a photo of a C&S 4-6-0 in Aurora, IL, on lease but I doubt if their 2-8-0s traveled that far. The "Q" also leased C&S 4-6-0s (#330 and #331, I believe) to work the Edgemont, SD, to Deadwood, SD, passenger train back in the 30's and maybe the 40's. The C&S locomotives were larger and had greater tractive effort than the CB&Q K class 4-6-0s.
