The bridge's fate may look bad, but isn't it great to know that line will again see passenger service very soon, just what thd old Pacific Electric built it for!

I used to live and work in this area of the city. Notice the set of horizontal wooden planks on the right side of the image that have a hint of orange paint still left on them. Those were road construction barricades used by the PE and are/were lettered as such. The SP was really great at re-purposing material. I think the bridge survived the construction process at least as of September 2011 when I was by this area last. It may be part of a future bike/hike trail that will connect with the trail on Balona Creek.
