Such a beautiful engine! Sad to hear shes on static display. Something that graceful should be pounding the iron.

If you can get to York England the 5 of July 2008, you can see "Mallard" outside of her museum perch lined up with TWO OPERATING siblings, the "Union of South Africa". and "Bittern". This is part of an event called "The Coronation" a 2-day, 2-way excursion celebrating the 70th Anniversary of "Mallard's" 126 MPH run. This fantastic gathering would be like having three New York Central Dreyfuss Hudson's' getting together for a party. The London-Edinburgh trips pulled by these engines have been sold out for months.
