Excellent documentaion of a little seen annoyance on the railroad. The "Bird Boxes" as I have heard them called, either malfunction due to their ancient wiring and you are trapped in the siding until a maintainer can come fix it, or after you wait the 15 minutes you move the lever the wrong way accidently re-locking it insead of unlocking the switch. Thus having to wait the 15 minutes again! Just another obstacle encountered in the tediousness of everyday railroading, even better at 3am on the 11th hour of a 12 hour shift when it is 34 degrees and pouring rain!
