I like the way the line poles clutter the foreground a bit, adds depth and interest.

Me too. Along with train watching, a lot of fishing.. I wonder if D801 had helpers at the end? (It often needs them for the climb behind the camera)

Thanks for the comments. Yes, Jeff, they did have helpers, but it was only half a coal train. Most of the time they either have helpers for the entire train or cut it in half and the two locos bring it up the hill and then retrieve the other half. For some odd reason, and to my disappointment, the two locos that I THOUGHT were going to retrieve the second half of the load ended up tying on the end and then waiting for 518 and 85 (which I caught a few days earlier on another coal train) to arrive. The reason I was disappointed is because the two that tied onto the end had a clean BNSF SD70ACe leading. The majority of the coal trains that come into this area have BNSF power, but I've YET to get one this winter in the snow...and I would have preferred the orange in this scene. Just bad timing on my part, I guess.
