This is sad for a lot of reasons. I just saw this loco in a very nice picture in Mike Scafer's Vintage Diesel Locomotives, a James Micchke photo. It's 1981 and she's recently been painted and washed. She looked awesome and that picture has been a favorite of mine for a while. Ten I come here to see the Ann Arbor and find this. Great picture, Mike, but a very sad sight. Sometimes scrapping IS the best way to go. -- Joe H.
