This engine is actually the SOU 542, not the 604, contrary to what the signs and # boards may say. The real 604 is sitting in the museum floor in multiple pieces where it's been since 2003. The 604's tender was left intact, and the museum had been wanting to rebuild the 542 since they got it. They got their chance last summer when the new movie "Leatherheads" was being filmed, and Universal Studios needed a steam locomotive fast. The museum used Universal's money to restore the locomotive, they didn't have time to repaint the tender, so they just used the 604's tender and placed new # boards on the 542. It is all exterior paint, the interior is shot.
