Despite all the alterations inflicted upon the 2400, it did not suffer the "flattened windshield" that most ATSF-rebuilt GP30s were given. The reason for that particular modification was to eliminate the GP30-specific glass size for those two center panes. But with all the rebuilt GP30M carbodies BN brought to the merger, that part of the program, most likely, became less cost-effective.
