Dear famous Mr Livesey...never forget George Bernard Shaw's equally famous comment: "England and America are two countries divided by a common language." What we who speak the Queen's English call a signal box or cabin, you would know as a 'tower.' What we refer to as a shunter is what you would call a switcher. What you call switches, we know as 'points.' To us, a freight train is a goods train, a railroad is a railway and a passenger car is what we call a coach. And your engineer is our plain old train diver. Just don't get me started on rolling stock, OK? We could be here all night. :-)
