I had a near miss with this unit several years back at IRM. On my first visit to IRM I was walking out of one of the barns in awe of all the neat stuff just as a worker was firing up this loco. Unfortunately the worker had neglected to remove the stack cover from the loco, so with loud Whoompf and cloud of smoke the sheet metal cover was launched skyward. I was only dimly aware something had occurred when the cover slammed back down to the ground less than five feet away from me.
