Full of interest. The liner as a backdrop makes the shot. Surprised the car needed regauging - correct me if I'm wrong but are both systems not 4ft 8.5 in?

To Bob Avery and the Photographer. The car was originally 4'8 1/2 gauge but had to be regauged to 62 1/2 inches in order to operate in Philadelphia. Then it had to be re-regauged back to the original for San Francisco operation. I was at Luzerne Depot in July 1976 when it made its first run which was about a week after the Bi-centennial because the work was late being done. Bill Volkmer
