I thought the T1's were to big for Elmira I thought. Great shot John. The Pennsylvania & Reading railroads.

Great shot. Wish there were more photos of the Elmira Branch, especially the Newark Ny area where I grew up.

Are you certain this is Lyco Junction? Aerial photos from this time period show that the switch for the Elmira Branch was east of the signal bridge, across the street in the picture. Also, is that a station ahead on the right? Theoretically that would be the Rose Street crossing ahead, with the 4th Street crossing not far behind 2115's tender.

Below is a link to an undated aerial photo of western Williamsport. Lyco Junction is visible at the bottom of the photograph, with the signal bridge located just east of the intersection of 4th Street and Grier. I think it confirms that this photograph could not be of an eastbound train at Lyco Junction because the tracks are not laid out in the same way, and there is not enough room for a station between the signal bridge and the grade crossing. Could this train be facing west elsewhere in Williamsport? Could that spur on the left be the old trackage that ran down Hepburn Street? I'm sorry, I was mistaken in my previous comment. I found the location of this photo: Newberry. The train is westbound at Lyco Creek Junction, just like the caption says, and the wye is obscured by the locomotives. The spur on the photographer's left goes back to Armour Leather (now Brodart), and the grade crossing visible ahead of the train is Arch Street. The approximate coordinates are 41.236442, -77.050221.
