Just think about all the damage to the vehicles that this car was hauling. Surely there had to be some over spray that got in through the side of the car.

No need to remove it, all the pertinent information was left by the artist, look at the reporting marks and road number- all masked off before the piece was done. Great whole-car, and a great picture of it!

Oh what beautiful "art" by the "tag artist" vandals. Makes me sick.

I also heard that this artist is careful not to paint loaded cars... he seems to know what hes doing. Sure does a neat job. Great photo Rob!!

The "artists" leave the markings because if they do, the railroad will likely not spend the money to remove it.

Thats a good one by Enihs. Seen this like 3 times. Rob did you photoshop the F word out? or could it have been the railroad?.....Even if there were automobiles inside there would be little overspray due to the fact that most of this whole car was done with a paint roller.

We have the same problem with those idiots in my country too.

All the info is still visible, and the car is going to make money no matter what it looks like. I am a carman for NS, and the only time we paint over graffiti is if it is covering reporting marks, etc. The companies just aren't going to pay to remove it.

I really find these graffiti debates to be quite interesting, I also find it interesting that with in one days time there have been pictures of both illegal and LEGAL graffiti posted on RP. That's right, legal graffiti. I think that the New York and Atlantic has the right attitude towards dealing with the graffiti, sanction it, as they did with one of their GP38-2's, http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=248275 . On an aside, what about the fact that the car is essentially getting a free paint job. Maybe someday the railroads can convince the taggers to incorporate their logos into the pieces, I think that the general public might pay attention to that, but then again our good friend liability would probably keep that from happening. Nice picture by the way Rob, it made my day.

From the date of the picture to the date the piece was made is one year. I don't think the owners of the car is too worried about it. Note: Most graffiti writers tend to keep the reporting marks and other information one may need at the railroad alone. For example, this writer has left all of the information alone and has went around it. Most of the time when these guys get time to do something like this, the car has been sitting empty. It's not too often that railroads leave autoracks alone with vehicles inside of them unless they have just been loaded a day or two prior. Very nice photo Rob!

I find it very sad that pics of graffiti attracts so many hits and favourites. It is a dreadful eyesore, and it isn't anything to be proud of. These idiots cause a huge amount of damage to passenger trains in Europe, they are not a pretty sight. How would you feel if this was your house.

At least of they do remove it it won't be hard, paints easy to take off of metal.

That's crazy, I wonder how they had the time to paint all of that!
