Wow, those 10 cars commutes are amazing. In Utah the FrontRunner commutes runs 3 cars max.

They need them in the GTA. You got people coming from as far away as Hamiton (on the eastbound trains) and Oshawa (on the westbound trains). I forget how many cars they use on the other GO lines.

Both Lakeshore West, East, Georgetown, Barrie, Richmond Hill and Stouffville Lines use 10 car trainsets, while the Milton Line uses 12 car trainsets, 2 or 3 of the ex Milton trains are used on the Lakeshore East and West Lines at rush hour. And now GO Transit has added another 12 car trainset onto the Lakeshore West Line that run in and out of Hamilton at rush hour.
