I believe this is at Breakneck, or at least that is what it is called today. Nice shot, too!

Nice photo from days gone by, Don. James, Breakneck Tunnel is down on the Hudson Line. This is stateline on the old B&A.

Great shot from the past, as with all your vintage photos, Don. I still wish there was 2 tracks. The 21 miles of single track the the grade is a killer for tonnage trains.

Much as I admire L. Stanley Crane, the "one track mindset" he had was one thing I didn't admire about him. He just didn't understand that it wasn't about how many gross tons you moved over a rail line, it was about the type of traffic and the speed you needed to move it at. In the northeast, that meant intermodal trains and speed was of the essence if you wanted to take some of the traffic off the highways. This line should have remained two main tracks, especially after Conrail had already spent a lot of money rehabilitating BOTH tracks.

Nice shot of the 206! I agree that it is regrettable that this unit and its class no longer run or those car bodies that still do are not in this scheme.

That is one clean beautiful looking F40PH. Thanks for a great shot.
