This stretch of track was once the NYC mainline to Paris, the line between Paris to Pana is abandoned. Pana to St. Louis is run by the UP (MOP/C&EI). C&EI had trackage rights on the NYC and that's how it was saved when Conrail abandoned the NYC. The shops in Mattoon, IL are now baseball/softball fields and you cannot even tell the yards were there.
