That brings back fond memories of when I worked at East Cabin and Portage, Illinois, on the ICRR in the late 60s. Portage, especially, required strong legs as well as strong arms. Thanks for posting!

Yes, I worked a couple of summers during College for the CB&Q substituting for vacationing Agents, Operators, and Levermen between Chicago, Galesburg and St. Paul. So this was my tower for 8-hours a day for a couple of weeks. What fun and great union pay!
