Well, they'd probably replace it with a GP9!;-) Seriously though, up here in the great white north the philosophy seems to be "if it moves under it's own power, use it!" It might eventually get a CN paint job and be use elsewhere in the system, but as long as it's in reasonably good shape (and it appears to be) it probably won't get retired too soon.

The SD38-2s will probably outlast 703 if it leaks oil on CN like it has done on the J! That thing is Gary shops' worst nightmare. Great photo!
