I always wondered how the rails are secured to the concrete ties. We don't see them in the east in many places. This must be the same concept that the Bessemer used when they had steel ties. When you said new rails, you meant NEW rails. I'm pretty sure that 2008 is the newest date stamp in the database. Nice shot.

Thanks for the comment. I was interested in the attachment mechanism as well and found that they are made by Pandrol USA and these particular ones are called the PANDROLĀ® SAFELOK I. They also utilized a new type of anti-abrasion assembly under the rails that looks more secure than the previous version.
