As an American, I have become a fan of these unique locomotives. I have seen Mallard in York England and I pined to go to the July 4 2008 (ironic, hmm?) gathering in York of the four existing in the UK. That being said, it is very discombobulating to see an A4 here in the States. It must be more so for our UK fans and friends. At least 60008 is inside and being well respected. If only ALL our locomotives could have the same treatment! Thank you for posting this nice shot. (Too bad the railing and cart are in the way!)

Despite her size, it must have been tempting to try to sneak her out and get her on the flight back to the UK, eh? Another impressive capture - the detail and texture in stunning; enough to make one consider a move back to film.

We've got an A4 in the Canadian Railway Museum just outside Montreal called the "Dominion of Canada". She's not in quite as good condition as the "Dwight D. Eisenhower"...
