Rolled in January, 1979. Love the blur the wheel creates. a prime example of how a wheel works.

I too appreciate this shot for just the right amount of blur, as the scars and even the rust seems to have a rotational focal point right where wheel meets rail. The lighting is just right too, with no shadow on the rail from the railhead, meaning you had to get up pretty early to get it right. Magazine worthy for the Trains articles on flanged wheel performance. Send it! You know they're going to use it when the time comes again.
