The term "EA-unit" in this photo caption is inappropriate because there was an actual EA model that Electro-Motive built for solely for the Baltimore & Ohio. Perhaps "E-type A unit" would serve better. The EAs were the first slant-nosed E-units built, while similar, concurrent, Santa Fe versions, the original Warbonnets, were classed as E1s. Interestingly, these unique AB-6 locomotives, when originally painted, were in the full Rocket cab unit scheme, although they were configured as boosters. Yet another golden oldie Marty!

I used the term "EA-unit" because it could have been an E6A or an E7A. But you are right, that causes a little confusion. Thanks for the complement.
