This very sight was my first encounter with a live steam geared locomotive. My late wife and I spent our honeymoon in Cass, May 1989. I always tell folks who have been there, write a letter of thanks to the State of West Virginia for having the foresight to save this entire operation as a State Park. It would never happen in this economy! Ah! The smell of West Virginia anthracite coal!
