It is still quite a place. I first came to Marion to work on the EL in 1967. I wish you could have seen it then. The EL, N&W, C&O and NYC all came through town. There was also a branchline to Dayton that the EL operated daily trains on. Since the branch was roughly parallel to the yard, trains would back out of the yard across both diamonds and then proceed down the branch. When returning from Dayton the process was to back into the yard. EL controlled the interlocking so when this move was accomplished there was always some other line waiting to get through town. It was like pulling the plug out of the sink. Great fun. Thanks for your pictures.
