Beautiful shot Joe.

Wow, what a great lashup, Joe. Excellent look into both UP and CNW's past.

Thanks for adding this shot - the face "only a mother could love". Back when UP was experimenting with BIG power for its big spaces, it is interesting that AT&SF stuck with conventional locomotives although, arguably, it had more difficult and more frequent grades to contend with across the Transcon. And UP even went for high HP B units for awhile. When the new-fangled locomotive manager in Omaha told the salty 'ol Green River Chief to cut off a specific unit number for another train with power problems, he complied. Thereafter, he inquired as to how the train was to proceed with a B unit in the lead. Such were the "territorial" pains of centralization.
