The locomotive type V270 unites the characteristics of a Streckenlokomotive with those a work course locomotive. In the years 2004-2007 the EBW let three locomotives regenerate completely again. The locomotives are equipped with two Deutz engines TBD 620 V12 (approx. in each case 1.500PS) and/or two MTU engines 12V 4000 R 41 R (in each case 3750PS) in each case. The engines correspond to the exhaust stage UIC II.
