Great shot, Matthew. I've enjoyed the coverage you've given these switchers on this assignment and this obscure operation. Sad that it's abolished and the SW1200RS fleet is pushing extinction, but at least I can catch the 1271 locally on the Havelock Job.

That's Sad. When I moved here in 2005 the first train I saw was these 2 Switchers working the old (and now demolished) Nexon Chemicals plant on W75th Ave. When I got my licence I always drove pass the O yard and continue to do so. the las time I did there was a string of abandoned C.P. Rail tankers, the Caboose in the yard and 1 TILX tanker. A far cry from what the yard once was when the Arbutus Line was open and all industrial leads along Kent Street were being used.

This is a beautiful photo-- the colours of the river and the engines are bright, and the bridge and the caboose colours harmonize. Anytime I have seen this bridge (in my memory) the swing span has been open. I thought it was no longer used. There is so much redevelopment now on the Richmond side that whenever I go to Vancouver, I always check to see that the bridge is still there. To me, it's a landmark.
