Must be a very large renovation, including much masonry work. I see an excavator to unload sand and cement, and an air compressor to power work tools. Behind the red tarps is a massive amount of scaffolding !

I thought it was a dam at first. But the red made me wonder.

I know that my first comment on this photo was several years ago. I now have discovered something very interesting about this viaduct, at this point in time. I have discovered a time lapse video on YouTube that shows the erection of the scaffolding and the application of the red weatherproofing material that protected the workers while they were doing extensive repair work to this historic structure. Search YouTube for Roter Landwasser Viadukt / Landwasser Viaduct in red . Submitted by Verastiffler. The closing indicates that this video was by RHB- Rhatische Bahn. There is is some music on the video that does not start at the opening, but comes in late. The song is the same, but the lyrics have been changed to fit the subject. I hope RailPictures members and guests will enjoy this video as much as I did. Construction workers engaged in Scaffolding erection and the removal of same are the most fearless workers on our planet !
