This was prime example of D&RGW's "Short Fast Trains" concept in action. #79 was amply powered, short and light, and received an expeditied schedule to SLC. You didn't dare make this one late. It had a 16-hour schedule from Pueblo-SLC, but 13 hour runs were not uncommon.
