Yes it is still running at Plant McDonough. It has been repainted since this picture was taken. Plant McDonough is currently being converted to a gas fired plant and will no longer receive coal shipments sometime next year. I don't know what will become of this unit. GE made only one other unit like this and it was at Georgia Powers plant in Milledgeviile, GA. I don't know the current status of that unit.
I hired on at Georgia Power as a switchman at Plant McDonough in 1986, and worked on this unit for about two years before going to the Line Department.
