John, this photo is not only awesome because of the nice lighting and framed Mojave signal bridge composition, but it also is great in that it represents a last look at the classic SP of old. Soot, big Tunnel Motor lash-ups, all of those 50' SP boxcars up front (with a couple Railboxes thrown in), full SP light clusters, class lights. The only dated signs of the transitional times (late 80's) is the modified ex-L window on the engineer side and Rio Grande T-2 trailing last - a symbol of the inbound Anschutz influence.
