Other tracks ( I BELIEVE Maine Central ) once passed under this bridge, about where the gravel road is now and extended to a steamboat landing several hundred feet off the right hand side of this photo.

CORRECTION: Sorry folks, I was wrong. Further research shows that the rail line that passed under this bridge was, in fact, the Bangor & Aroostook, who also maintained a modest yard ( now gone) a short distance off to the left of this image and despite the differences in gradient interchanged with the CP. Maine Central DID also have a steamer dock on Moosehead Lake, however it was further North on the West shore of the lake at a location called Kineo. Mea culpa.
