Could we simply call these EMD SDP22ECO's . Does anyone know who bought these from EMD and when. I like the over all length of these as well as the notched nose brake wheel location. A nice catch David.

Good job DH on finding the repainted/rebuilt ex-Mexicano SDP40's! Cool to see them paired up flat-back-to-back like that still in their original full SDP carbody form! KCS 2600 = ex-TFM1319, ex-NDM8531, nee-FNM8531 while KCS2601 = ex-TFM1320, ex-NDM8533, nee-FNM8533 - part of a late 1970 SDP40 order for FNM.

It is interesting that the steam generator vents are still on top of the hood.
