Great shot, a real sense of history in it, the new taking out the old. In addition it has some additional significance for me as i have shot the former DT&I 200 and the local shortline here rosters a paduchbuilt GP10 that was once DT&I 990 so its nice to see what they looked like in their original paint and configuration.

I absolutely love the DT&I Symbol. Very similair paint scheme to the EJ&E. Fantastic photo Jim, and thanks for the story too.

Terrific shot. Around 1975 a DT&I GP9 (988, I think) wound up at Railway Supply Co in Montgomery, AL. Don't know if it was rebuilt, refurbed or cannibalized. Will try to find and scan.
