Twenty years ago my dad and I (I'm the train nut dad was the driver) tried a simular terminal photo shoot from the parking lot at SP's West Colton diesel sevicing facility. At first we saw no one either, so we started walking around the parking lot as I took a few pictures. All of a sudden a white Blazer came racing through the lot and practically skidded to a stop right in front of us as an SP cop jumped out and interrogated us about our presence there! After five minutes of ID. inspection, writting down of our vehicle discription, and some good hearty scolding, we were told to get out of there and never come back! I've never been back! No hard feelings however, to the Espee Special Agent that was just doing his job and handling 2 more trespassers in a train yard that is on the "wrong side of the tracks" so to speak. And WOW, 10.6 cents per gallon for diesel! The sign may have been a little outdated, but it still blows my mind that it once was that cheap. I just fueled up my Cummins powered Dodge Ram today ay $2.63 per gallon and thought that was a pretty good price. ($84.50 for 32 gallons) Better than the $150 fill ups at $4.50 per gal. of a year and a half ago!
