Please note the section of large size roller chain laying om the front footboard of this little GE. These only have one powered axle which is connected to the other axle by this size chain and sprockets. I spent several weeks in, a refinery in Warren, Pennsylvania, that has two of this unit's more modern siblings. When viewing either of them from a distance after the loco had passed, and from a point between the rails, the chain is visible hanging down between the wheels. These older 25 ton units have the cab roof visible here, while the newer ones have a cab roof that is rounded on all four corners like the roof on a 44 ton GE center cab loco.
