Interesting scene, Chris! I'm surprised CSX didn't suspend operations because of this.

Thanks, Chase. This fire spread very quickly due to high winds that day and quickly closed in on the end of the train. The fire was not very close to the train for most of the day but the winds carried it down the mountainside and onto the foliage next to the ballast. When I got here, the flames were higher than the roof of the caboose. The train crew pulled the train forward and out of danger after MOW crews cleared the line ahead, preventing what could have been a very bad, and sad, situation.
