Does this bring back memories!! I did this on the old Northern Pacific line up the Bitterroot branch of Montana in 1964. We had four men on that section. The boss was 45, the other two workers were 62 and 64...I was 19. We worked in two man teams, replacing 25 ties a day by hand. Pull out the spikes, dig out the ends of the ties, set the jacks, lift the rails and pull the plates. Removed the tie, enlarge the hole, replace with a new tie. Drop the rail by releasing the jacks, set the plates and drive the spikes, then eye-ball the rail and tamp the ties...raise with the jack if necessary. We aligned the rail by hand...eye ball down the upper rail and move the rails by heaving on bars. Good old days...would not trade the experience for anything.

Stephen, nice moment. The vignetting works well here; good choice.
