Vergara did not design the ALP46. He is an industrial designer - a kind of sculptor and graphic artist - not a mechanical or electrical engineer. All he designed was the paint scheme and some details of the shell. The locomotive is a Semmering-Graz-Pauker design based on previous production for the Austrian Federal Railways.
