For a short time two of these units along with two SD-40s-2s were assigned to the SEPW freight into worcester, MA. At the bitter end the EL bought some SD45-2s with 5000 gallon fuel tanks. They went from 3600s to 6600s. Conrail had more variations of standard units than any railroad ever had. Thanks for this vintage picture.

Crews hated these units for their horn placement, but loved them for their grit, like being able to start a train on a 2% grade. But their appetite for fuel got them sent back to their lessors.
