If any picture deserves to make it, this one sure does. This picture would have been one of David P. Morgan's favorites. It has the feel of David Plowden. I was going to get a similar shot of the UP Challenger in 1996 at this location. But local railfans said I would never make it in time. So instead I went to a spot right off the interstate close to Tracy. In the final analysis I would have had plenty of time because the Challenger train spent over an hour at the Pass for runbys, I have always had dreams about how great this place is. I think it started with the “Train’s Magazine” story on the F units at Milpitas.
