True, the Union Pacific Streamliner fleet displayed train numbers while running from Omaha, NE to Chicago, IL via the Milwaukee Road (and earlier the C&NW,) but when City of Los Angeles and Challenger used Santa Fe's Cajon Pass line, between Yermo and San Bernardino, CA, engine numbers, and not train numbers, had to be displayed. So, why would this train, which is solely a Milwaukee Road operation, display the train number, anyone know?
