This unit SOU #3919 was eventually repainted into the NS Thoroughbred scheme & wrote off the roster to serve as a training asset at McDonough, GA, the NS Training Center.
No reliable, researchable reason for the B36-7 to be retired so soon has ever been published.
They were stored at this point, but other than an EMD-fleet outcast, is only the ever reason they went to offline.
But that was the way things were done on the Southern Railway System.
They simply did not seam to match the performance of the GP50.
